Tatas To Enter Ultra-Fast Delivery Space With Neu Flash

The super success of 10-20 minutes quick ecommerce delivery platforms like Zomato-owned Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart and Zepto, which together command over 85% market share in the segment, is egging other major ecommerce players to follow suit.

The latest entrant would be the Tata group’s ecommerce venture Neu. According to a report in Economic Times, quoting undisclosed sources in the know of the development, Neu looks set to enter the segment as ‘Neu Flash’. Initially the service could be rolled out to select users in the coming weeks, selling grocery, electronics and fashion, gradually expanding to more users.

Other recent entrants have been Flipkart with its service named Minutes, while Reliance JioMart is testing the service again after having shut its 90-minute delivery under JioMart Express, the report said.

The report, attributing its information to several brokerages, mentioned that market leader in the quick commerce segment Blinkit has around 40% share. Zepto, riding on its recent massive success in raising funding, has emerged as its serious challenger.

The report further said quick commerce is disrupting ecommerce and other forms of retail, which is partly the reason why other consumer platforms are readying to deliver a wide range of goods beyond grocery in 10-20 minutes.

For grocery, Neu Flash will be powered by BigBasket, while Croma will be selling electronics and phones and Tata Cliq fashion and lifestyle products through the quick commerce platform, the report added.
