350-bedded hospital, biggest in Panchkula, with a staggering 120 ICU beds
With the recent official opening of its 350-bedded multi-super speciality hospital in Sector 5 Mansa Devi Complex, Panchkula, its 16th hospital in North India, and expansion of its Mohali Hospital in progress with the addition of 150 beds to the existing 350, rapidly growing Park Group of Hospitals has declared that it is set to become the biggest hospital chain in Chandigarh tricity.
Touting itself as North India’s second largest hospital chain, with a combined capacity of its existing 16 hospitals of 2960 beds, the Park Group is in the process of integrating additional five hospitals (at various stages of execution) along with expansion of its existing facilities, which when completed will result in addition of 1500 more beds, taking the group’s bed capacity to 5460 beds, targeted by March 2028.
A couple of claims and assertions in terms of what differentiates Park Group from the competition, made by Group CEO & Whole Time Director Dr Sanjay Sharma at the inauguration of Park Multi-Super Speciality Hospital, Panchkula, calls for special public attention and scrutiny.
One: The group steadfastly follows group Chairman Dr Ajit Gupta’s vision and commitment that a patient in critical condition cannot and should not be denied treatment just because he or she cannot afford it.
Two: Doctors are not pressurised, and rewarded basis the number of patients they treat or the revenues they help generate, but the emphasis is on patient satisfaction and treatment outcomes.

Three: All the doctors in the Park Group of Hospitals are engaged full time, and none of them is visiting or on call, which ensures they are more accessible to the patients and results in better patient understanding/satisfaction and treatment outcomes.
With hospitals spread across metros and tier 2 & 3 cities, including in Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Panipat, Karnal, Sonipat, Ambala and Panchkula in Haryana, Mohali, Patiala and Bathinda in Punjab, Behror and Jaipur in Rajasthan, Agra in Uttar Pradesh, the group claims that it has by design adopted a cluster approach towards opening hospitals.
“So, the hospitals are within 30-40 kms of one another. Each of the hospitals has 4-6 ambulances which can reach critical and emergency cases and road accident victims in the shortest possible time, which is critical to survival,” Dr Sanjay Sharma informed.
Among the cities in the region where new Park hospitals are coming up are Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar.
In a message for the occasion, Dr. Ankit Gupta, Managing Director, Park Group of Hospitals, said, “Park Multi-Super Speciality Hospital Panchkula, built at a cost of Rs 115 crore, and the upcoming expansion in Mohali mark a significant step in building a scaled, integrated healthcare ecosystem across North India. With a combined capacity of approximately 850 beds in the Chandigarh Tricity region, we are strengthening our ability to deliver advanced, high acuity care closer to patients. Our focus is on building centres of excellence across key specialties while leveraging technology and operational efficiencies to deliver high-quality care at scale.”
Adding to this, Dr Sanjay Sharma shared that the Panchkula hospital has been developed to address the growing demand for tertiary and quaternary care services across Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh. By bringing high-end medical care closer to patients, the hospital aims to reduce dependence on metro cities such as Delhi for advanced treatments.
The 350-bedded hospital, the biggest in Panchkula, has a staggering 120 ICU beds, designed to deliver high acuity care. It houses 10 modular OTs, an Advance Neuro capable Cath Lab, and is equipped with cutting-edge technologies including the Da Vinci X Robot and joint replacement surgeries.
The hospital is also equipped with advanced diagnostics, modular operation theatres, critical care infrastructure, and will deliver comprehensive care across key specialties including oncology, neurosciences, orthopaedics, cardiology, and critical care including robotic-assisted procedures. Designed with a strong focus on high acuity care, a significant proportion of beds are dedicated to critical care services.
“The Panchkula hospital has been designed to deliver seamless, patient-centric care supported by strong clinical governance and modern infrastructure. By combining full-time clinical expertise with advanced technology and structured patient engagement, we aim to enhance treatment outcomes and overall patient experience across the region,” Dr Sanjay Sharma asserted.
Accompanying Dr Sanjay Sharma at the media interaction, Ashish Chadha, Group CEO-North, Park Group of Hospitals, revealed that harnessing the vast potential of international medical tourism is a key focus area of the group. With Chandigarh Tricity’s excellent air connectivity, it is poised to become a major hub in this direction with the cooperation and support of the authorities in the region.
