Spectacular illumination of a world record-breaking 28 lakh diyas, divine lighting, laser shows and an indigenous drone extravaganza on ‘Chhoti Deepawali’ (Oct 30)
The first Deepotsav after the ‘pran pratishtha’ (consecration ceremony) of ‘Ram Lalla’ in Ram ‘nagri’ Ayodhya is going to be grander than ever before, and devotees from anywhere in the world have an opportunity to join the spectacle and be blessed.
The Ayodhya Development Authority has arranged for devotees, who are unable to be physically present in Ayodhya on Chhoti Deepawali (October 30), to join in reverence and receive at home the Deepotsav ‘prashad’ prepared by Uttar Pradesh Rajya Gramin Aajivika Mission through the ‘Ek Diya Prabhu Shri Ram Ke Naam’ programme.

Alternatively, devotees can download the multi-purpose ‘Divya Ayodhya’ mobile app and book their ‘diya’ and ‘prasad’. The mobile app also provides useful information about Ayodhya and its must visit places, homestay, cab and tour package bookings, as well as purchasing Ayodhya related gifts.
Coming to the spectacle this year, an attempt is being made by the authorities to try and ditto replicate what the atmosphere would have been in the Ram ‘nagri’ on the return of Lord Ram, Mata Sita and Lord Lakshman from their 14 years of ‘vanvaas’ (exile) back then in the Tetra Yug (Ramayan age).

This year on October 30, a new world record of illuminating 28 lakh ‘diyas’ (earthen lamps) is being attempted at 55 ‘ghats’ of ‘Ram-Ki-Paidi’ on the sacred river Saryu.
Over 30,000 volunteers, including from Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya, 14 colleges, 37 inter-colleges, and 40 NGOs will be involved in executing this spectacle, which will consume 90,000 litres of mustard oil.
Besides, devotees will witness a spectacular display of divine lighting, laser shows, aerial fireworks and an indigenous drone extravaganza.
A massive stage is also be erected in the middle of the water where 600-odd artists from different states will render their unique cultural performances.
