VVDN Technologies Touts India’s First ‘Truly Indigenous’ Global Standard Laptop

Union Electronics & IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shares a video in a post on X titled ‘Designed in India and Made in India’ of him getting a lowdown on the product from VVDN Technologies CEO Puneet Agarwal
Unclear yet when or under what brand name the laptop will enter the market

Manesar, Gurugram-based VVDN Technologies, a global provider of software, product engineering, electronics manufacturing services and solutions, has unveiled what it is touting as India’s first truly indigenous laptop at par with international standards which has been designed and made in-house, right from hardware, to motherboard, mechanicals, body or chassis, and software.

Union Electronics & Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw posted a video on his X handle getting a lowdown on the product from company CEO Puneet Agarwal.

The video also provides a glimpse into the manufacturing facility where the device has been built as per international industry standards.

However, from the post it was unclear when or under what brand name the laptop will enter the market.

According to a report in the Indian Express, although the video does not reveal exact details about the laptop, the official website of VVDN Technologies states that the company provides entry-level laptop solutions to OEMs for white labelling (meaning a company buying a product from another company and selling it under its own brand name) with varied specifications.

The specifications of one such laptop include a 14-inch display, an Intel Celeron processor, up to 256GB of SATA SSD storage, and up to 8GB of RAM, running on Microsoft’s latest Windows 11 operating system, as per the newspaper report.

The website also mentions that the laptop is available for white labelling and mass manufacturing, with support for additional customisation as required, the news report further said.

The indigenously designed and made laptop aligns well with India’s effort to promote self-reliance in technology and manufacturing, encouraging more products to be designed, developed, and produced within the country.

The push is driven by the Make in India initiative, which offers a production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme to encourage manufacturers to assemble and produce electronic products locally, helping brands reduce import costs.
