Startup From Region Launches All Neem Based Product Line

Indians have historically bathed in neem leaves steeped in hot water, a procedure prevalent till date for curing skin ailments and allergic reactions. And, we do remember our older generations keeping their teeth and gums in excellent state of health by rubbing them vigorously with neem twigs, sourced from neighbourhood trees. Modern science has been able to isolate 140-plus biologically active compounds from different parts of the neem tree which are being used for treating scores of medical conditions.

Taking a cue from these near magical properties of neem, a startup, Mohali-based Nimbarka Industries Pvt. Ltd, has launched an all neem based personal and beauty care product line under the brand name ‘Nimbarka’.  Initially six products have been introduced in the North India markets – Neem Deep Purifying Gel, Neem & Milk Face Wash, Neem Face Scrub, Neem Shampoo, Neem Body Lotion and Neem Hand Wash.

“By marrying the goodness of Neem extracts with other proven and complementary natural ingredients and compounds sourced from different parts of the world, we have made our product line most suited for a modern lifestyle,” Mohit Banwait, Director, and Tanvi Nagi, CEO of the startup shared with on the sidelines of the launch ceremony, attended by business associates of the company from across the region on Monday.

“Our corporate office is in Mohali but we have latest and extensive research, testing, manufacturing and packaging facilities in both Baddi and Parwanoo. We are quite confident of our product line, because a lot of research and testing has gone into making them best suited for a modern lifestyle, and we are ready with an exhaustive marketing and promotional strategy to ensure that Nimbarka is a runaway hit in the market. Initially we will be targeting markets in Punjab, Haryana, UT Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh. But eventually we are aiming for an All India footprint,” they informed.

Introducing the other members of their management team, including Marketing Head Ashwani Bali, Technical Head Sunil Sharma and Production Head Avneesh Thakur, they said the products are also available online on their website The company is also eyeing the international market through ecommerce.
