Deserving students get Rs 10,000 annual educational scholarship each, first of two equal Rs 5,000 instalments of which were presented by bank transfer
Beneficiaries include 14 girls and 12 boys
The family of late Mr Satbir Singh Kohli has been awarding annual educational scholarships of Rs 10,000 each on need cum merit basis to two dozen students for the last five years through Rotary Club Chandigarh. This year too, the memorial scholarships named after Mr Satbir Singh Kohli’s father Mr Tarlochan Singh were distributed among 26 students from three different schools at a function organised by Rotary Club Chandigarh at Rotary House in Sector 18 on Monday evening.
Mrs Jagmohan Kaur Kohli, wife of late Mr Satbir Singh Kohli, presented the first of two equal instalments of the scholarship through bank transfer to each of these deserving students – 14 girls and 12 boys from Government Senior Secondary School, Saketri village, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 16, and Dev Samaj Senior Secondary School, Sector 45.
The remaining 50 percent of the amount would be credited to the respective bank accounts of the students in December 2025.
Speaking on the occasion, Rotary Club Chandigarh President Abha Joshi Sharma applauded the family of late Mr Satbir Singh Kohli for five years back taking upon itself the responsibility of helping deserving students on need and merit basis in their educational pursuits to perpetuate the memory of Mr Tarlochan Singh Kohli.
