When two highly-motivated and enterprising friends – Narayan Subramaniam, with a passion for design and innovation, and Niraj Rajmohan, with expertise in software and electronics – came together to launch Ultraviolette Automotive from Bengaluru in 2016 they had a dream to make it the first Indian success story in technologically advanced and performance-driven electric two-wheelers globally.

Seven years of painstaking research and development later they created quite a buzz in the Indian electric two-wheeler market with their first product – the F77 series of high-end electric superbikes – giving them confidence to branch out into mainstream and more affordable segment with the unveiling of Ultraviolette Tesseract, claimed to be world’s first radar-integrated high-performing electric scooter, and Shockwave, an adventure electric motorcycle, earlier this year.

Starting the sales push from its home ground Bengaluru, the fast-emerging company now has a footprint across 13 cities in India, with an ambitious target to extend its reach to 50 cities across India in FY 2026 with a simultaneous razor-sharp focus on fast-paced European markets such as UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and France, where Ultraviolette Automotive has already received the necessary certifications for its F77 series superbikes.

Riding high on the massive response to its high-performing electric scooter Tesseract in pre-bookings, which hit 20,000 in the first 48 hours, prompting an extension of its introductory price on pre-bookings for the first 10,000 customers to the first 50,000, the company recently (on April 22) showcased its entire range of electric two-wheelers at a media event in Chandigarh to create a buzz in the runup to the opening of its state-of-the-art S3 experience centre in the city later this year.

Interacting exclusively with your own news portal LifeInChandigarh.com, Reuben George, Vice President, Corporate Communications & Customer Experience, Ultraviolette Automotive, said till date the company has received 60,000 bookings online for the newly unveiled scooter and motorcycle, the deliveries of which will only start in the first quarter of 2026.

Equipped with a 10.3 kWh battery pack and delivering a peak power output of 30 kW (40.2 hp), the motorcycles offer a staggering 100 Nm of peak torque. The superbikes accelerate swiftly from 0 to 60 km/hr in just 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 km/hr with an impressive IDC (Indian driving conditions) range of 323 kms. Ultraviolette’s ongoing optional packages are also available to all F77 customers, aimed at magnifying the riding experience further.

F77 MACH 2 and F77 SuperStreet are priced at ₹ 2,99,000 and come with a global-first 800,000 km / 8 years battery and drivetrain warranty with the company’s UV Care MAX programme.
