Office to strengthen Kone Elevator India’s infrastructure for sales, installation, service and modernisation teams to cater to customers across Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and parts of Haryana

The tallest buildings in all four regions in India run with its elevators. It boasts of installing the largest and fastest elevators in India. Thanks to it, the largest passenger elevator in the world, at 25.78 sq meters, is also in India, at the Jio World Centre, BKC, Mumbai.
Kone, the world’s leading elevator and escalator company, headquartered in Finland, also commands roughly one-fourth of the estimated Rs 85,000 crore elevator market in India, the world’s second largest after China.
Amit Gossain, Managing Director for India and South Asia of the company, renowned for its innovation, reliability and sustainability, announced in Chandigarh on Friday the expansion of Kone’s footprint in North India with the inauguration of a new office in Mohali aimed at strengthening its infrastructure for sales, installation, service and modernisation teams to cater to the increasing demand for elevator and escalator solutions across Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and parts of Haryana.
The office will also house an exhibition centre to showcase Kone’s advanced elevator designs, innovative features, and cutting-edge technology.

The company has also opened area offices in Ludhiana to cater to the Punjab market and at Panipat to cover parts of Haryana. A satellite office has also been opened in Jammu to cater to the Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
Reacting to increasing media reports and social media posts highlighting incidents of elevators stalling and other accidents involving elevators occurring in various parts of the country, he assured that Kone gives utmost priority to safety features in its elevators and claimed that the company ranks very high on the satisfaction index of customers.
“Kone elevators incorporate various safety features compliant with international standards like IS 17900 and EN 81-20. These include automated testing of brake torque, elevator car door detection systems and locking mechanisms. AI-powered 24/7 networked monitoring, predictive maintenance, and seamless integration with smart building systems are other key safety features incorporated in the company’s elevators,” he stressed.
Dwelling on the company’s commitment to best practices and sustainability, Gossain shared that Kone’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility near Chennai, the largest in India and in South and South-East Asia, is carbon neutral.
Kone has two of its global technology and innovation centres in India at Chennai and Pune. It has 55+ branches in India from which Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. etc. are also being covered. These branches cater to the evolving needs of customers, strengthen service network and capabilities across India to provide timely maintenance, modernisation, and repair services for its existing installations.
In association with Chitkara University, Kone Elevator India is offering a diploma in Vertical Transportation in the varsity’s Punjab campus for students who wish to pursue a career in elevator and escalator industry.
