In less than 5 years, smart phone brand realme has risen to be the 4th largest smart phone brand in India and 6th largest in the world. Riding on a wave of popularity with its disruptive market strategy of constantly leap-forwarding technology at affordable price points, realme today claims to have 20M+ users in India of its C-series budget smart phones alone.
In another of its disruptive moves, the company formally launched the newest of its C-Series budget smart phones, realme C55, in Chandigarh on Monday with substantive technological and features upgrade to bring the best in class camera, storage, charging and design, while keeping the price points untouched.

Announcing the launch in the city of the C55 in two stunning colours – Sunshower and Rainy Night – and with three storage variants, Sree Hari, Product Manager, realme Global, said the 4GB+64GB variant has been priced at INR 10,999, the 6GB+64GB variant at INR 11,999 and the 8GB+128 GB variant will be available at INR 12,999 in the market.
He claimed that the company received 66,000+ pre-bookings for Realme C55 before its launch and it sold 1,00,000 devices in just 5 hours of the sale going online on realme.com, Flipkart and mainline channels on March 28 before the available stocks ran out.
Buoyed by the massive response to its smart phones, especially the C-series, realme has lined up a phenomenal expansion of its offline stores strength, nearly doubling it from the present 30,000+ to 50,000+ by the end of the year. Its service centres are also set to increase phenomenally from 527 to 727 by the end of 2023.
In the Punjab market, where realme’s mainline market share is claimed to be 10%, the current stores strength of 2,000+ is set to expand by 25-30% and 13 more service centres are being added to the existing 10 by the year end.

64MP AI Camera & 8MP selfie camera
realme C55 has an impressive camera setup, with a primary camera of 64MP and an OV64B sensor. Users can capture stunningly clear photos with an FNO of f/1.79 and a 6P lens. The addition of a 2MP B&W lens with an FNO of f/2.4 and a 3P lens only adds to the camera’s versatility.
The C55 is the first in the C-Series to feature the OV64B flagship sensor and also the first to incorporate realme’s exclusive street photography mode, which includes features such as Dynamic Image Snapshot, Street Filter, and 90s Pop Filter. Other photography functions include Bokeh Flare Portrait, AI Color Portrait, and Starry Mode.

realme C55 comes equipped with a 5000mAh battery that offers long-lasting power to users. In addition, the phone also features the fastest 33W SUPERVOOC charging solution in its price segment, using high-voltage, low-current charging technology to provide faster charging.
90Hz FHD+ Display
realme C55‘s display is a standout feature of the device, offering a high-level full screen experience that is unparalleled in its price range. The phone has a 17.07cm (6.72”) 90Hz FHD+ display, which is the first in the C-Series that comes with a 90Hz refresh rate and is the largest 90Hz FHD+ display available in this price segment. The display’s high resolution of FHD+ 1080*2400 and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.4% make for a stunning visual experience.
Additionally, the smart phone supports a Sunlight screen with a brightness of 680 nits, ensuring that users can comfortably view the screen even in bright sunlight. The phone also features a high touch sampling rate of 180Hz, which makes the device extremely responsive to touch.
Realme C55 boasts a unique and innovative feature called the mini capsule. Once accessed, the mini capsule offers three functional scenarios to users. The first scenario is the Charge Notification, which includes a dynamic light that changes colour to indicate the phone’s charging status. The second scenario is the Data Usage Notification, where the dynamic light changes to orange when the phone reaches 90% of the daily data usage limit. The third scenario is the Step Notification, where the dynamic light changes to yellow, and at a fixed time every day, it displays the number of steps and distance walked by the user.

The realme C55 has an ultra-slim design, measuring only 7.89mm in thickness, which is achieved through continuous optimization of its internal structure. This makes it the thinnest phone in its price range.
