At Nineteenth May Mohali, You Sure Are In The Place To Be These ‘Nine Nights’

0

It is that time of the year when the entire country is gripped by high sentiment. Marking the auspicious start to a long festive season, Navratri (meaning nine nights), brings with it religious fervour and an upbeat market mood. It also brings days of fasting, when the devout are very particular what they eat or drink, strictly no onion or garlic for many, not even smell of it.

So, it’s a difficult task to decide where to go when planning to eat out. A very obvious choice would be a strictly vegetarian restaurant with a spankingly clean kitchen. The options aren’t too many in the tricity, and around. A good option LifeInChandigarh.com would like to suggest to readers who are in a state of uncertainty is Nineteenth May, an authentic vegan restaurant with a most modern, spacious and clean kitchen which opened up in Mohali’s Sector 67 less than six months ago. It already boasts of a sizable clientele, most of them repeat visitors.

Photos By : Life In Chandigarh

Run by a highly experienced hospitality professional with exposure to world class kitchen facilities, chefs and menus, Nineteenth May, has rolled out the red carpet for the devout. Besides creating a special Navratri welcome gate, and doing theme decor on the ground floor and spacious basement to create a great ambience, the restaurant has laid out a wonderful Navratri menu. Two chefs of the restaurant have been dedicated to prepare this menu, all items on which are cooking in desi ghee and are sans onion or garlic.

So you have a choice between a wholesome and tasty Navratri thali, in case you want to have your heart’s fill, an aloo-poori, sabudana kheer, freshly cut mix fruit bowl, sabudana tikki and shakarkand chaat. Every item is freshly prepared to give you that special taste and aroma.

This writer tested out his favourite aloo bhaji with kuttu atta poori. It was awesome!

A visit to Nineteenth May is highly recommended. So, if you are planning to eat out during Navratri days, and want to be sure, Nineteenth May is the place to go!

My Opinion Pieces Have Been Frank & Forthright, Says Indian Ad Man

0

He has some wonderful memories of life and friends in Chandigarh, from where he did his schooling from the then best boys’ school, St John’s High-26, and later topped the Panjab University in graduation with Honours in English literature while studying in the best boys’ college of the times, DAVC-10. Leaving the city in pursuit of his management studies he never looked back. Quickly climbing the ladder of success, he became an advertising and marketing baron, overseeing the Indian advertising biggie Rediffusion as its President, worldwide operations of Zee Group as its CEO and entering into a joint venture partnership with world’s leading advertising company Dentsu of Japan for India and the Middle East.

Now when he has retired from active professional life, Dr Sandeep Goyal’s insatiable passion for writing, travel and food has only grown in intensity. In city, where his parents still reside in Sector 21, to launch his fifth book ‘Honest To God’, Dr. Goyal shared with LifeInChandigarh.com that the book is a compilation of 78 odd essays on advertising and branding, on corporate and marketing strategy, and on select celebrities – analysed as ‘human brands’.

Photo By : Life In Chandigarh

The essays are edited versions of a series of frank, forthright and candid opinion pieces he wrote as part of a popular fortnightly column, also titled Honest To God, he began writing for Business India magazine four years ago.

Commenting on his approach to writing on a wide variety of subjects, Dr Goyal said “I spend hours, sometimes days researching a subject. I try to form an independent view. I write with zero bias. But when I write, I write with purpose. I write with passion. Marketing or communication may seem to be drab commercial subjects, but believe me there is a lot of emotion that drives brands and brand-owners. I try to capture those emotions in most of what I write. Honest To God over the past few years has consistently been an honest and unrelenting mirror to all that happens in Corporate India.”

Dr Goyal is very passionate about learning and writing. He completed his PhD in Business Administration at the ripe age of 55 years. “The topic of my research was Celebrities as Human Brands,” he informs. Advance copies of his sixth book ‘Japan Made Easy’ are already out. “Japan is a fabulous country. In the book I have written on 101 different topics – various facets of life in Japan, including business, industry, art and culture, tourism, etc. Having visited Japan more than 100 times for varying periods over the last quarter of a century, I feel I have a fair idea of the country and what it stands for.”

Dr Goyal’s earlier books Dum Dum Bullet (2004), You’re Hired (2012), Konjo – The Fighting Spirit (2014) and Blogbuster (2019) have all been well received.

Sharing her thoughts on latest trends in the world of jewellery with LifeInChandigarh.com, Latika, whose creative instincts have been acknowledged and applauded the world over this past quarter of a century, says “There’s a transformation of sorts happening in the jewellery business, with preferences shifting in consonance with modernity and fast-paced life. A perceptible shift in the taste of millennials is being witnessed, with heavy studded jewels gradually making way for demi-fine jewellery.

Photos By : Life In Chandigarh

“A gradually increasing charm for unpolished and uncut gemstones is also seen. The beauty of raw gems, as they appear in their crystalline form, has a very earthly appeal to it, and is inspiring jewellers the world over to come up with collections which make the wearer feel closer to mother earth,” she informs.

As far as her own work goes, she says “the Indian heritage, with its rich diversity and incomparable legacy, has been the focal point of each of my creations. My foreign travels every year also fire my creativity. I have been inspired by the cathedrals in Italy a lot.”

Latika seeks to cater to women from all walks of life that have an international outlook to life. Each of her jewellery pieces, with chic contemporary designs, is crafted with finesse by the best craftsmen in the country and is brought to life using the best diamonds, pearls, rubies, emeralds and sapphires sourced from across the world.

Relating her journey thus far in the world of jewellery, Latika says, “My romance with style, fashion and creativity began at a very early age. I must have been just 6 years old when creations around me began to fire my imagination, which eventually propelled me into the world of design and creativity. The culmination of all this was the birth of Latique, which has been exporting its neoclassical, one-of-its-kind handcrafted jewellery for over 25 years now.

The silver jubilee year marked the retu of brand to its roots with an exclusive outlet at The Oberoi, Gurugram.”

Home Decor By Lush Homme

While Latika is in Chandigarh for her very first exhibition in the city, her close friend Sabina Mago, founder of home decor brand Lush Homme, is a familiar name, with a committed clientele among the tricity shoppers looking for style and exclusivity.

Sabina’s bed covers and cushions have already won several hearts. More recently her towel sets (which are customisable) are increasingly becoming popular. Besides a wide range of these signature items, Sabina has this time also brought along runners/dining table runners, mats, napkins and napkin holders, bed sheets, quilts and gift sets.

So ladies, don’t hold back, come soak yourself in luxury, fashion and style!

Startup Initiative Aimed At Wiping The Onion Tears Of Farmers & End Users

0

Among all the perishable commodities, the two which undoubtedly bring maximum tears to us consumers and farmers year on year are onions and potatoes. And, despite tall claims of successive governments to bring permanent relief to the growers and end users by removing the chain of middlemen from the supply line, none has come anywhere near fulfilling those promises. Here comes a promising technological initiative outside of the government which appears to be geared to address this chronic problem for good.

Two young entrepreneurs from Chandigarh on Wednesday launched ‘AlooPyaz’ app which assures us of bringing good quality onions and potatoes directly from the farmers’ organisations to the bulk end users as well as our neighbourhood kiryana stores and supermarkets.

Photos By : Life In Chandigarh

“In ‘Navratra’ offer, starting today onions in bulk will be available in 50 kg and higher packs @ Rs 39 per kg and potatoes @ Rs 5 per kg on the app for retailers, hotels, restaurants, caterers, canteens, departmental stores, mode trade, whole sellers and supermarkets. We will ensure same day delivery at no extra cost. The offer will remain open till October 7,” shared the beaming duo of Sudarshan Patel and Vinod Singh Kashyap.

An alumni of Punjab Engineering College (PEC) Chandigarh, Sudarshan is an experienced hand from the corporate and food and vegetable industry. Vinod has had stints with big corporates like Walmart and Big Basket.

While the original concept is business-to-business (B2B), the end consumers will also benefit as they will be able to buy 1 kg premium packing from their neighbourhood kiryana and supermarket stores at prices much cheaper than the prevailing local market prices. “Initially we are placing these packings at two stores – Kumar Mega Mall in Sector 15 and Happy Homez Store in Dhakoli, Zirakpur – with an eventual  target to make these available at 200 outlets across the tricity. The initial pricing is expected to be around Rs 46 for a 1 kg pack of Nashik onions with interested stores being advised to keep their profit margins low so that stocks fly of the shelf. One kg premium ‘pahari aloo’ packs will also be available at a price cheaper than the prevailing market price,” Vinod told LifeInChandigarh.com.

“We at POT Agritech Pvt Ltd are India’s first agritech startup in onion and potato supply chain industry with a vision to organise the estimated $ 16 billion industry, which continues to remain unorganised resulting in a whole lot of distortions because of the 6-7 layers of middlemen involved. The app is aimed at bringing transparency in the market pricing of these commodities apart from checking the massive price fluctuations,” Sudarshan emphasised. His earlier startup SabKuchFresh.com, launched in 2014, was acquired by Paytm, backed by Jugnoo, within two years.

“The company is initially sourcing onions directly from farmers’ organisations in Nashik and potatoes from Jalandhar, Agra and Himachal Pradesh. We have organised collection, sorting, grading and packaging centres at various places. Gradually we will expand our operations to the National capital and later to 15-20 other cities,” Sudarshan explained.

Vinod added that apart from consumers, the farmers will also benefit immensely from better pricing and being relieved of the burden of storing and packing their produce. The issue of uncertainty in payment will also be resolved as they will receive the payments the same day in their bank accounts digitally.

Science, Mode Medicine & Ancient Wisdom Interplay Must For Healing Mind, Body & Soul

0

The first day of the 3-day International Conference on Integrative Medicine & Holistic Healing, organised by The Quantum Clinic in association with Holistic Healing Trust, Max Hospital Mohali and Xicome Mexico on the campus of National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Mohali, on Friday turned out to be a first-time and rewarding experience for an impressive gathering of highly receptive experts in science and medicine, as also various shades of therapists and healers from across the country and the world. The conference coincided with the International Day of Peace, which is observed on September 21 every year.

The participants, who included, besides experts from science and mode medicine, healers from various ancient and alternative therapies, appeared to firmly believe in the purpose of the conference, the urgent need to amalgamate the strengthens of mode science and medicine with those of traditional wisdom and alternative practices for the overall physical, mental and spiritual well being of society, which will further lead to peace and harmony in the world.

Photos By : Life In Chandigarh

Practitioners from varied fields, including biofield sciences, hypnotherapy, ozone therapy, acupuncture, music therapy, sound therapy, ayurveda, homoeopathy, yoga and naturopathy are participating.

In a specially recorded video message for the conference, distinguished scientist Dr William Selvamurthy, who is currently President of the Amity Science, Technology and Innovation Foundation, recalled the extensive studies conducted on armed forces personnel during his tenure as Chief Controller, R&D (Life Sciences & International Cooperation) at Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), which showed the tremendous positive impacts of yogic practices on their overall physical, mental and spiritual well being.

These practices made them better prepared for surviving in extreme inhospitable conditions, he said, while emphasised the need for adopting a mind and body approach to healthcare and spreading this message globally. He was expected to be present but could not make it because of sudden unforeseen developments.

Dr Thornton Streeter, Founder, Centre for Biofield Sciences, now based out of Panaji, Goa and which is doing pioneering research in the anatomy and physiology of human biofield, expressed the view that the concept of ‘chakra’ healing as enshrined in Ayurvedic and yogic traditions is very accurate and precise and Indian universities should take up serious research on its concepts.

Dr Thornton, who encourages research worldwide, aimed at scientific validation and technical evaluation of ancient medicinal systems, so that mode medicine can be integrated with traditional understanding from Ayurvedic, Chinese and other systems of medicine, has collaborated with John Catchpole to develop a subtle live imaging system, the Biofield Viewer, that visualises the interference patterns of light at, and near, the body’s surface. (Details can be viewed on biofieldviewer.com, also see biofieldsciences.com).

Miktlan Ehekateoti Kwauhtlinxan, practitioner and master teacher of Mexican ancient and sacred Tetzkatlipoka (black smoky mirror) tradition, the purpose of which is to develop consciousness, explained that the foundation of this system is Nawi Ollin Teotl  (movement of the four great energies in the universe). According to beliefs in this tradition, human being are made up of four fundamental aspects – the physical body (nakatl), the mind (matik), the emotional (pampa) and the energy field (tonalli) – and balance of these in a body will allow the soul (newatl) to manifest and flow in an optimal way.

The medicine system of the tradition is called Wewepathli (meaning, the great medicine). Food, art, laughter, colour and sound, all form part of the medicine. It also utilises herbs, energy therapy, therapeutic massage, talk therapy and exercise.

Also originally from Mexico, Michelle Button Tukiama ‘Vrinda Devi’, a vibrational healer, well being and spirituality advisor, music therapist and more, all rolled in one, enlightened the audience about the immense healing powers of sound and music. She also gave a live demonstration of her prowess in the “art of singing bowls and sacred sounds”, developed with her own research, linking humanistic music therapy, sound therapy and the teachings of ancient civilisations.

A First Time Manthan On Amalgamation Of Science, Medicine & Traditional Therapies

0

A first of its kind 3-day International Conference on Integrative Medicine and Holistic Healing will be organised at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Mohali from September 20-22 to coincide with the International Day of Peace, which is observed on September 21 every year.

Put together by The Quantum Clinic in association with Holistic Healing Trust, Max Hospital Mohali and Xicome Mexico, the conference is unique since worldwide experts from various fields will participate for the first time in a “quest to expand and deepen our understanding and experience of our relation with nature and self, through the lens of science, medicine, holistic healing and spirituality.”

Well known oncologist Dr Sachin Gupta, who is a firm believer in the power of holistic healing and spirituality in conjunction with mode science and medicine as a means to achieve the goals of universal healthcare and wellness, shared with LifeInChandigarh.com that an array of therapists from around the world will be presenting their views and research on diverse subjects.

So, there will be biofield viewers, who capture the auric field and help in determining the problems in the energy field of an individual. Other experts will dwell on the power of hypnotherapy in releasing past traumas and transforming thoughts and emotions. Ozone therapy, acupuncture therapy, music therapy, sound therapy, ayurveda, homoeopathy, yoga and naturopathy will be among the other components of the conference.

“We intend to collect proposals and experiences, which may benefit society and be implemented in the healthcare system, incorporating holistic medicine to promote all aspects of wellness – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual – without harmful side effects. There is a growing need for healers and practitioners to come together to integrate the healing modalities and treat patients as a whole and not in parts, and the conference is endeavouring to fulfil this dire need of the times,” Dr Sachin Gupta emphasised.

Among other reputed speakers, President of Amity Science, Technology and Innovation Foundation W. Selvamurthy, who is also Director General for Amity Directorate of Science and Innovation & Chair Professor for Life Sciences at Amity University, will speak on Integration of Science, Medicine and Spirituality. MSMEs Are Robust, Need To Keep Abreast Of Changing Times

0

Industry administrators, leaders and experts at the 7th Regional SME Summit, organised by CII Northern Region in Chandigarh on Tuesday, while hailing the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as the backbone of the Indian economy, especially so in Punjab, asserted that the MSME sector is essentially robust despite the challenges. It was felt that the sector needs a more enabling environment to raise its contribution further to the GDP and restore buoyancy in the economy.

The summit while acknowledging that funding is a crucial factor in realising the tremendous growth potential of MSMEs, concluded that they need to improve their governance in terms of   maintaining their books, balance sheets, bank statements, GST returns, etc to raise their credit worthiness and explore the largely untapped alternative means of funding, especially through the stock market route.

Photos By : Life In Chandigarh

The industry leaders debunked the prevailing widespread negativism around the signs of slowing down of the economy, and asked MSMEs to have confidence in the resilience of the Indian economy, which will spur growth at a fast clip within a short time frame.

Dwelling on the theme of the summit “Sustainable Development of Northern Region MSMEs”, Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Industry and Commerce Vini Mahajan while acknowledging that the MSME sector is the backbone of the country’s economy as a whole, and especially so in Punjab, promised the state government’s firm commitment to provide it an enabling ecosystem so that it could thrive and catalyse growth, thus creating greater employment opportunities.

She said that the international investors’ summit is being revived in the state after a gap of a few years and the one planned for December 5 and 6, the current government’s first, at the ISB campus in Mohali, will focus heavily on the MSME sector.

Conceding that there is still lack of absolute clarity in the Government of Indi regarding the definition of an MSME, which is creating hurdles in the smooth flow of concessions and incentives to them, she said the state government is constantly pursuing with the Centre to quickly settle this issue.

She sought the genuine feedback of the industry for a new revised policy for one time settlement of outstanding loans extended by the traditional state funding agencies like PFC and PSIDC so that it could be implemented effective and bring desired results. She also appealed to investors to take full advantage of the liberal state Industrial Policy and set up more private Industrial Parks. The state government is open to proposal for a public-private partnership as well, she added.

Pointing out that Punjab has been ranked second in the country after Gujarat in the ease of logistics, the state ACS Industries and Commerce reiterated the state government’s firm resolve to improve the infrastructure in its own existing industrial parks and focal points. “We are determined to improve the road and other infrastructure in these places at all cost,” she asserted.

Vini Mahajan shared that creating more and more Common Facility Centres is another focus area of the state government, and so is ungrading the skill sets of manpower through modernisation in the teaching and training methodology at the polytechnics and ITIs in the state.

She also urged the MSMEs to participate in the recently launched Make In Punjab push, a policy for which gives preference to indigenous manufacturers in government procurements.

Rachna Dikshit, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, called upon bankers to not shy away from extending loans to the MSMEs after doing due diligence. She said the bank had undertaken capacity building exercises over the last two years under which 1300 bankers, especially those heading rural branches, had been sensitised to the issues involved.

Sanjay Khurana, Chairman, Regional Committee on SMEs, CII Northern Region, and Wholetime Director, Baddi Foils Pvt Ltd, was of the opinion that, considering the importance of the MSME sector in the Indian economy, it is essential that they are provided need-based support during times of delinquency, failure or other challenges.

Sharing the bankers’ perspective, Rajeev Arora, General Manager, State Bank of India, said the bankers expected transparency and commitment from the entrepreneurs to enable them to seamlessly process requests for loans. Though banks are constantly reviewing their processes and making things simpler for the borrowers, checks and balances are necessary to ensure that the funds are utilised judiciously and for the purpose these have been extended, he maintained.

Sushil Aggarwal, Co-Chairman of the Regional Committee on SMEs, CII Northern Region, and Chairman, Avon Moldplast Limited, urged MSMEs to believe in the resilience of the Indian economy and expressed confidence that buoyancy will soon return to the market. MSMEs are, and will, continue to remain the backbone of the Indian economy and they need to be extended adequate assistance by the government in various aspects of their operations, he asserted.

Making a mention of structural changes being made in the economy to bring about greater transparency in the systems, Aggarwal said the government has shown the right intent to remove the trust deficit, now it is for the industry to show positivity and the zeal and drive to overcome transitory challenges and help the economy grow faster.

Jyoti Prakash Gadia, another Co-Chairman of the Regional Committee on SMEs, CII Northern Region, and Managing Director, Resurgent India Pvt Ltd, felt that the MSMEs need to focus on keeping their books, balance sheets, GST returns and bank statements in order with an aim to improve their credit rating. Alternative fund sourcing from the equity market by listing on the major stock exchanges like BSE and NSE should also be explored since these have already benefitted several MSMEs, he added.

Rahul Priyadarshi, General Manager, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) Chandigarh while asserting that the MSME sector is robust, with a few stresses here and there, maintained that there is no dearth of funds with SIDBI. The bank has simplified its requirements and process for loans but due diligence has to be gone through, nonetheless. He suggested that industrial units in clusters with can approach the banks and other financial institutions for funding collective guarantees. These clusters can be got rated for ease of transaction, he added.

Royal Benjamin, Regional Head – SME and Startups  – North India, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) felt there is still widespread ignorance among the SMEs and startups regarding the tremendous potential of the alternative funding route for them through the stock markets. Separate platforms have been created for SMEs and startups in the BSE in the last few years and it is ready to reach out to the SMEs and accompany merchant bankers to access their credit worthiness, he said.

Get A Taste Of The Heart & Soul Of Punjabi Food, And Tharras In Actual Pauvas Too

0

The roadside dhabas have traditionally been associated with trucks and truck drivers, who patronised them as their home-away-from-home for food and rest to break their gruelling journeys. Gradually the ‘charpai’ roadside eateries began to get bigger and smarter, and highway travellers and tourists began to throng them in the hordes for lip-smacking food at a price easy on their pockets. The by now iconic restaurant brand ‘Dhaba’ (Estd 1986 inside The Claridges Hotel on Delhi’s famed Aurangzeb Road) took the concept to an all new level, adding a full-blown ‘Theka’ with signature Punjabi ‘tharras’ in actual ‘pauva’ bottles, apart from well stocked IMFL and imported liquor.

The iconic brand, with multi-city presence and a twisted phrase tagline “When it comes to traditional Indian food, the truck stops here!”, has, after years of efforts and persistence, been brought to Chandigarh’s Sector 7 by its franchise owner Puneet Gupta, a computer engineer from PEC Chandigarh and an MBA from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, who stumbled into the food business and has thrived in it for over two decades.

Photos By : Life In Chandigarh

“I have been trying to convince Azure Hospitality, the same folks who created Mamagoto and are now managing Dhaba brand, to bring the heart and soul of Punjabi food to Chandigarh. This first franchise ownership of the brand is the result of four to five years of hard negotiations and perseverance,” shared Puneet with LifeInChandigarh.com at the formal launch of the outlet in the famous back lane of showrooms on the Madhya Marg in Sector 7. Before Chandigarh, the brand already has presence in Delhi/NCR area (multiple outlets), Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.

“Despite Chandigarh being the heart of Punjab, there was a vacuum of sorts in the Punjabi food fine dining space for people who would want to enjoy lip-smacking Punjabi food while not compromising on hygienic conditions, pleasing ambience and great service. There were very few places that one could think of for an outing with family, guests, friends or colleagues to gorge on Punjabi food.

“Here comes the iconic Dhaba, the essence and soul of which is Punjabi, but which now has a whole range of dishes from other regions available for indulgence. It is also the first Dhaba with a large dedicated space for a full-fledged Punjabi Theka, pouring tasteful Dhaba signature drinks, served with special appetizers all day,” gushed Puneet.

The Dhaba’s interiors are simple, rustic and extremely colourful with elements of quirkiness thrown in good measure. Apart from vintage Bollywood and Hollywood posters, lamp chandeliers, and truck art adorning the sun-kissed Theka area, body of an actual truck with tables laid out on it allow you a cozy corner in the Dhaba restaurant. So you have a big poster of Amitabh Bachchan on one side of the theka with his twisted dialogue reading “Hum jahan pe khareh ho jaate hain, WINE vahin se shuru hoti hai!” splashed on the other.

Other posters staring at visitors include those of ravishing beauties of yesteryears Marilyn Monroe and Madhubala. The cover of the Theka menu carries the picture of Dalip Kumar with a twisted line from a famous song reading “Peg Liya Toh Chakhna Kya!” Number plates of trucks cover the entire corridor wall leading to the restaurant and the Theka to add another element of the truck art.

The iconic restaurant offers legendary authentic Indian recipes in three categories – Tandoor, Tawa and Patila. Dhaba specialities under the tandoor section include Amritsari Kukkad, made with chicken marinated with curd and having a dominating smoky flavour of ginger and garlic, Tandoori Prawns, Highway Chicken Tikka, Amritsari Machhi and Murgh Malai Tikka. For the vegans, there is Lal Mirch Ka Paneer Tikka, Cottage Cheese marinated with pounded red chillies, yogurt and spices finished in the tandoor, and Dhaba Paneer Tikka.

Listed under Recipes Since 1986 in the Tawa section, are Tandoori Bhune Aloo, which is tandoor roasted baby potatoes, shallow fried and tossed with spices, onion and saunth chutney, and the traditional Veg Galouti and Mushroom Hara Pyaza. For the non-vegans, on offer are Galouti Kebabs, Amritsari Machhi and Tawa Mutton and Chicken made with succulent boneless cubes of marinated chicken cooked with onion, tomato and spices.

In the most loved Patila section, the Dhaba has signature Handi Murgh and Handi Gosht, the famous Mutton Curry, Balti Meat and Butter Chicken 1986. For the vegans, there is Lahsooni Palak, Paneer Makhan Masala and Kanastari Baingan Bharta, which is a signature preparation of eggplants cooked in tandoor, mashed and finished with royal cumin, tomato, ginger and green chilli. Dal Dhaba, Veg Handi and Amritsari Chole are age-old favourites from this section.

The outpost at Chandigarh comes with an all new Theka food menu to complement the signature Tharras, classic cocktails, Ghatta Ghatt shots and more. Accompanying these tasteful dishes, Dhaba’s Mock Tharras are just the refreshments you need. Traditional beverages include a section of Rangeela, Virgin Paan Mojito, Kaala Khatta, Ganne Ka Sa Ras, Rajdhani Jal Jeera, Meerut Ki Shikanji and Aam Panna.

The Dhaba also serves rich and devouring starters from Tandoori Malai Broccoli to Crackling Spinach Crispy Co and Chataka Chinese Bhel.

Series Philosophy

Education is the key to the future of humanity. By making education accessible to everyone, we can make sure that no human potential goes waste. Through education we ensure that today’s students are ready to deal with the problems of tomorrow.

Many Nobel Laureates talk about how teachers have introduced them to the world of science, literature and peace, and how mentors have played a role in their success. The Nobel Prize shows how humanity can change the world for the better – and it starts with education. Investing in education is investing in the future.
