With Ortech Textiles Unit, India’s Ortho Aids Leader Tynor Goes Completely Indigenous

To compete globally, Mohali, Punjab based Tynor sheds dependence on China for all technical textiles and other soft materials, which account for major content in 75% of its product portfolio
Will save 25% on cost of raw materials and further improve quality

Mirroring the Indian industry’s resolve to end dependence on China for raw materials, components and ingredients, and compete with its products in the global markets, the country’s orthopaedic aids/appliances leader Tynor Orthotics, in a major push towards backward integration, has set up a technical textiles and other soft materials manufacturing facility at an investment of around Rs 300 crore.

The new unit, Ortech Textiles Pvt Ltd, spread over six acres in Phase 6 Mohali, was formally inaugurated by Punjab’s Minister for Industries, IT and Labour Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Saturday in the presence of Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh and Dr PJ Singh and AJ Singh, Managing Director and Executive Director respectively of Tynor Orthotics.

The facility with state-of-the-art machinery imported largely from Germany, Italy, Taiwan and Korea, will meet the complete requirements of technical textiles and other soft materials used in the entire portfolio of Tynor products. These raw materials are majorly used in more than 75% of the Tynor products, the rest 25% being chiefly metal products.

Interacting with your own news portal LifeInChandigarh.com ahead of the formal launch, Dr PJ Singh informed that with this expansion the Tynor Group has set afoot ambitious plans to become one of the leading global players not only in the field of orthopaedic aids/appliances but broadly healthcare and wellness as well.

Highlighting areas of Tynor’s focus to compete with Chinese products globally, he asserted “to beat China, we have to beat them in quality, we have to beat them in pricing, technology, productivity and sales and marketing. In the ultimate analysis, reducing the cost of raw materials and achieving economies of scale will be key to success.”

The Tynor Orthotics MD shared that Tynor brand currently has presence in 60 countries, largely developing countries or emerging economies, which is sought to be increased to 100 countries. Additionally, Tynor will make a major foray into the developed countries through global retail giants like Walmart to market its products, he added.

Currently Tynor Orthotics has a turnover of Rs 650 crore, out of which exports account for little less than 20% (Rs 125 crore). With the new facilities, capacities have been scaled up to achieve a turnover of Rs 2,000 crore in the coming years.

Punjab’s Minister for Industries, IT and Labour Tarunpreet Singh Sond feels the technical fabric at Tynor Orthotics’ new unit Ortech Textiles which he formally inaugurated in Mohali on Saturday.

Regarding employment opportunities, Dr PJ Singh said the new unit Ortech Textiles alone will employ a workforce of 1,000. Currently people with the required skill sets to run operations are not available, so we are adopting a few villages in our vicinity from where women and young boys, who are not educated enough and lack the skill sets, will be picked up for training in our own institute being set up for the purpose.

Making a statement on the work culture, he said, the entire workforce will be looked after well. Besides providing it a good working environment, it will enjoy facilities like on the house transport facilities, and food and beverages, etc. “Since we will be running the plants round the clock, in shifts, and we are planning to recruit 50% of the workforce from among women to empower them, the state government has been kind enough to grant us special relaxation in rules governing women working at night,” he shared.

Adding to the Dr PJ Singh’s assertions on employment, Tynor Orthotics Executive Director AJ Singh stated: “With the start of manufacturing at Ortech Textiles, plans are to increase employment at Tynor Group from 2,500 to 5,000.”

Detailing the state-of-the-art machinery installed at the Ortech Textiles unit, he said this included circular knitting, jacquard knitting, flat knit, 3D knit, narrow fabric machines, fabrication lamination machines, and neoprene laminated fabric equipment. These capabilities will give Tynor unmatched vertical integration in the production of technical textiles and orthopaedic components, he asserted.

Clouds Of Doubt Wither, New Age Indian Batting Stars Shine Bright

Shubman Gill (127*) becomes fifth Indian batsman to score a century on Test captaincy debut. Joins Vijay Hazare, Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar and Virat Kohli club
England becomes third country after West Indies and Australia where Yashasvi Jaiswal (101) has struck a century in his first Test of the tour
Without India’s tormentor-in-chief, the great Jimmy Anderson, the English pace bowling attack appears to have been weakened

There couldn’t have been a more fitting venue than Headingley cricket ground in Leeds, with a 120 years history of Test cricket, and made famous by the two record-setting triple centuries in the early 1930s by the legendary Australian Sir Donald Bradman, for the young Indian batting stars to make a bold statement that they are ready to take on the mantle of carrying forward the legacy of India’s batting dominance after the greats Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma abruptly called time on their red ball careers.

With fluent centuries by left-handed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (101) and captain Shubman Gill (127*) at No. 4, a first for both on English soil, an unbeaten half century by vice-captain Rishab Pant and an equally impressive 42 by the other opener KL Rahul, the new brigade of Indian batters completely dominated the England bowlers, posting a commanding 359 for 3 on the first day of the opening Test of the 5-match WTC Test Series on Friday.

(England bowlers bounced back in the latter half of the first session of play on the 2nd day of the Test match, sending back four Indian batters in quick succession, but not before vice-captain Rishab Pant became the third centurion of the innings, and both he and the overnight centurion captain Shuman Gill had plundered the bowling for 81 more runs in quick time. Gill (147) was the first to depart, followed by another failure of the innings Karun Nair. Making a Test comeback after eight years, he returned for a duck having faced just four balls. A belligerent Rishab Pant (134) and No. 8 batter Shardul Thakur (1) became captain Ben Stokes’ third and fourth scalps. At lunch India were still strongly placed at 454 for 7.)

(In notching up his seventh Test hundred, Rishab Pant has broken MS Dhoni’s record for most Test tons by an Indian wicketkeeper in the longest format of the game)

The performances would have given heart to those who were doubting the abilities of the new generation of batters, especially in countering the challenging English conditions, and the decision of the selectors and the team management in handing the Test captaincy to 25-year-old Shubman Gill at such a young age, considering that he has played only 32 Test matches with a less than flattering aggregate of 1893 runs, averaging just over 35.

Openers Jaiswal and Rahul displayed remarkable poise and discipline in the initial overs, after India were put in to bat by England captain Ben Stokes. They consistently left deliveries bowled at them in the corridor of uncertainty by the opening pace duo of Chris Woakes and Brydan Carse, while at the same time not missing opportunities to score runs.

KL looked more fluent of the two in his stroke making, while Jaiswal took time to set into his grove, initially unable to get his timing right and in the process missing out on some of his favourite slashing cuts, uppish flicks and lap shots. Their opening partnership threatened to take the game completely away from the hosts, before Carse and Ben Stokes struck with two quick dismissals on the stroke of lunch.

Despite earlier having restrained himself from playing the away going balls, KL paid the price for a rare indiscretion to Brydan Carse. The opening partnership yielded 91 valuable runs. The first innings on Test debut proved disastrous for left-handed B Sai Sudharsan, who was dismissed for a duck, perhaps too anxious to get off the mark. He lasted just four ball and edged a flick off the pads to a Ben Stokes delivery into the safe gloves of a diving Jamie Smith behind the stumps.

In the session between lunch and tea, the England attack was taken on another leather hunt with captain Shubman Gill, in his effortless stylish best, and Jaiswal expressing themselves freely and effortlessly reaching the boundaries. In between Jaiswal experienced persistent cramps in his right arm which he kept wringing, even receiving medical attention. Soon after completing his well-deserved century, Jaiswal departed after being castled by a zapper from Ben Stokes post tea break.

That was England’s last success for the day, as the captain and vice-captain frustrated the England attack for the next two hours. Gill completed his century with a fluent cover drive and Pant raced to his half century in his typical dramatic stroke play style. Even the new ball, taken immediately after it became due after the 80th over, could not make a dent as the cool duo remained relentless.

Taking nothing away from the class displayed by the Indian batters, it would be a fail to not mention that minus India’s perpetual tormentor, the great Jimmy Anderson (who has an envious record of claiming 149 wickets in 39 Test matches against India), the English bowling attack appeared to be weakened. On a flat and dry surface, the English pace bowlers Woakes, Carse, Josh Tounge and Stokes found lateral movement, both in the air and off the pitch, but it was by no means menacing. The lone spinner on display Shoaib Bashir found little purchase from the wicket and yet stuck to a good line and length in the 21 overs he bowled.

Some other interesting stats

This is only the third time in India’s 93 years history that two players have tonned up on the first day of an away Test tour.

Yashasvi Jaiswal raised his fifth Test hundred in his 20th match. This is his third century against England. His previous two came during England’s last tour of India in 2024, when Jaiswal smashed 712 runs from the five-Test series at home, becoming only the second Indian batter to score more than 700 runs in a single Test series.

The hundred at Leeds was Shubman Gill’s sixth Test ton

Pant struck his 16th Test fifty and crossed 3,000 runs in the red ball format of the game.

Previously only six Indian batters had scored Test hundreds at Headingley, Leeds – Vijay Manjrekar, Nawab of Pataudi, Dilip Vengsarkar, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.

People Developing Type 2 Diabetes At 30 Or Below Highly Concerning: Diabetologist Dr Deepti Arora

Alarming situation needs to be addressed urgently through coordinated governmental and societal interventions

When a girl in her mid-teens presented in a medical clinic in Sector 21 Chandigarh complaining of a cut in the finger which was not healing, she wouldn’t have ever imagined what she would be diagnosed with at such a young age. The 17-year-old had developed Type 2 diabetes. Though her parents were not diabetic, there was distant history of the disease in the family with one of her grandparents suffering from it.

Another patient, a 34-year-old visiting the clinic complained of what he believed was persistent ‘acidity’. Finding no clear cause for the complaint, the doctor recommended a set of random tests, which resulted in the man being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetic. He presented with none of the classical symptoms associated with diabetes, yet he had it.

About this case, Dr Deepti Arora, a Consultant Physician and Diabetes Specialist, explains that because of a metabolic dysfunction the middle-aged patient developed fatty liver, which lead him to feel what he described as ‘acidity’.

Your own news portal LifeInChandigarh.com connected with Dr Deepti after hearing from our readers’ circles that she runs an ethical practice by the name ‘Healthwise’.

In a lengthy conversation at her clinic, centred around her experiences as a diabetes specialist of long standing, she expressed serious concern over more and more young patients presenting with Type 2 Diabetes around half the age (30 years) than previously known till a couple of decades back.

(Type 2 diabetes is a chronic condition characterized by persistently high blood sugar levels, also known as hyperglycemia. This occurs when the body either doesn’t produce enough insulin or can’t use the insulin it produces efficiently, leading to glucose buildup in the bloodstream)

Dr Deepti says that if earlier on an average people were developing Type 2 diabetes at age 50, and on remaining undetected and unchecked, further complications like heart diseases, kidney disease, eye damage, nerve damage, etc began manifesting a couple of decades later, it was less consequential for the patients. By then they would have lived out their productive years and better accept the reality of a reduced quality of life while remaining on lifelong medications and treatment.

But now, when people have started developing Type 2 diabetes at much younger ages, and further complications, on remaining undetected and untreated, also manifesting in crucial years, it is much more consequential because quality of life in their most productive years gets hugely disturbed or disrupted.

This situation needs to be addressed urgently through coordinated governmental and societal interventions because only healthy and prospering people can lead the nation to its goal of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, she asserts.

Pre-diabetes & childhood obesity

Dr Deepti highlights another growing concern, that of the rising number of Indians entering the ‘pre-diabetic’ stage, often unknowingly, due to the absence of clear symptoms. “This silent surge is largely driven by lifestyle changes and an overabundance of food and calories in our environment,” she explains.

She also emphasises that the increasing prevalence of childhood obesity must be addressed urgently and tackled on a war-footing.

While all these disconcerting health issues can be attributed to a growing trend towards unhealthy eating choices, sedentary lifestyles and a toxic environment, she said tackling the concerns head-on is not a choice but an absolute and urgent necessity. It’s a complex challenge that requires a multi-faceted and holistic approach. (Her detailed suggestions are listed later in this write-up).

Improved medicines

Dr Deepti has some words of cheer for Type 2 Diabetics. Earlier there were only 2-3 medicines available for treatment of diabetes, now there are many more improved options. Now medicines are available which not only help control diabetes but also protect the kidneys and heart.

Effective weight loss medicines have also entered the market. Though expensive, these are getting popular following their use by celebrities. Available in tablet and injectable form, monthlong daily therapy can cost in the region of Rs 10,000. Reduction in body fat reduces the impact of fat accumulated around vital organs like liver and pancreas. A 10% reduction in body fat can result in 1% reduction in HbA1c, which is significant, she shares.

Looking ahead, Dr Deepti informs, diabetes management is set to become even more patient-friendly with the upcoming availability of once-weekly insulin injections, reducing the need for daily doses and improving convenience and adherence. Additionally, inhaled insulins are on the horizon, offering a needle-free alternative for mealtime blood sugar control, which would be particularly beneficial for those with injection fatigue or fear of needles.

Coming back to the root causes of Type 2 Diabetes, Dr Deepti reaffirms that apart from hereditary and genetic factors, unhealthy eating choices and sedentary lifestyles are major contributors. And we are not burning the calories. Less than 10% of the population indulges in some form of recreational activity like walking, home exercising or gymming, she assets.

Her advice: The least people need to do is walk around for 10-15 minutes after every meal, whether in their workplace, home or outdoors. Taking recourse to a simile, she says just as you need to burn fuel in the car to generate energy, similarly you need to burn calories to generate energy in your body.

Markers of diabetes: Family history, weight loss/gain, infection not healing, insulin resistance which manifests in darkening of skin right behind the neck and/or underarms, etc.

Diabetics must know: One most important thing all diabetics must and should avoid is drinking sugary beverages, which means anything which tastes sweet – aerated drinks, fresh home-made or packaged juices, tea, coffee (whether with sugar, jaggery, honey, or any other sweetener), even fresh coconut water – are to be strictly avoided.

A parting word: All those who have a history of diabetes in the family must start getting annual blood sugar tests done from a young age otherwise entire families run the risk of developing diabetes.

Dr Deepti Arora is a physician (gold medallist) specialising in diabetes. She has trained at CMC Ludhiana and holds a Fellowship in Diabetes, along with advanced certifications in Diabetes from Christian Medical College, Vellore; Royal College of Physicians (UK) and Harvard Medical School (USA).

At HealthWise Clinic, she focuses on personalised, lifestyle-based management of chronic conditions like diabetes, high cholesterol, and high BP.

Excerpts from a Q&A with Dr Deepi Arora

Q. Type 1 diabetes we know is an autoimmune disease. Can it occur at birth, or can it happen suddenly at any age?

A. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas, for reasons yet not known in medical science. Type 1 diabetes is not typically present at birth. It can develop anytime from infancy to adulthood, but it is most common in children and adolescents.

Q. Conditions which differentiate pre-diabetes from diabetes

A. Pre-diabetes means your blood sugar is higher than normal but not high enough to be called diabetes. It can be considered a warning sign that the person is at risk for Type 2 diabetes. Diabetes happens when blood sugar levels are consistently high and can start affecting your health.

Pre-diabetes is often silent – it usually doesn’t cause any symptoms, so many people don’t know they have it. It is reversible with lifestyle changes like healthy eating and exercise, good sleep and stress management. Diabetes usually needs long-term management and, if untreated, can lead to serious complications.

Q. Do all diabetics have to take insulin shots?

A. No, not all diabetics need insulin shots. People with Type 1 diabetes always need insulin because their body doesn’t produce it. In Type 2 diabetes, many people manage with healthy lifestyle – right eating, exercise, and medication. Insulin is needed if the body doesn’t make enough insulin or if the diabetes has lasted a long time and there are risks of damaging other organs.

Q. Any reliable simple or do it yourself (DIY) method of preliminary detection of diabetes, pre-diabetes?

A. There is no reliable DIY method to diagnose diabetes or pre-diabetes at home. The best way is to get a fasting and post prandial (post meal) blood sugar test done. If feasible, you can also get another test called HbA1c done.

You can watch for some symptoms like increased thirst, frequent urination, tiredness, and slow healing of wounds – these mean you should get tested soon. Sometimes urine infection is the presenting complaint of diabetes.

Regular check-ups are important if you have risk factors like family history or are overweight.

Q. Is diabetes fully curable, if yes, at which stage?

A. Diabetes is not fully curable, but it can be put into remission.

In pre-diabetes, lifestyle changes like healthy eating and exercise can often reverse the condition and prevent progression to overt diabetes.

In Type 2 diabetes, good management can keep blood sugar normal, and lifestyle and dietary interventions can help put it into remission, but it usually requires ongoing care.

Type 1 diabetes is lifelong and requires insulin treatment.

Q. Why should a person not develop diabetes? What does it do to one’s quality of life?

A. A person should avoid developing diabetes because it can cause serious health problems like heart disease, stroke, kidney damage, vision loss, and nerve problems. Indians are at higher risk of heart attacks and strokes, often happening a decade earlier than people in Western countries. These risks become much higher if diabetes lasts for many years without effective control. Diabetes can also make daily life harder with fatigue and frequent medical care. Preventing diabetes helps you stay healthier and enjoy life longer.

Q. Should diabetics despair, what can they do to enjoy good quality life?

A. No, diabetics should not despair. With the right care – healthy eating, regular exercise, medication as prescribed, and regular check-ups – they can live a full, active, and happy life. Managing diabetes effectively prevents complications and helps maintain good energy and wellbeing. Support from family, doctors, and diabetes educators also makes a big difference.

Q. How can schools, colleges, institutions contribute to prevent further spread of diabetes?

A. Schools, colleges, and institutions can help prevent diabetes by:

– Promoting healthy eating habits and providing nutritious food options. They can enforce rules that limit the availability of sugary drinks and junk food on campus.

– Encouraging regular physical activity through sports – By integrating regular physical activity into daily routines – like mandatory exercise sessions, walking clubs, or active classrooms – they can help students stay active and reduce diabetes risk.

– Educating students and staff about diabetes, its risks, and prevention.

– Creating a supportive environment in the school canteens that discourages sugary snacks and sedentary behaviour.

– Providing mental health support and stress management programs for children is important, as stress and poor sleep can affect blood sugar and overall health.

– Institutions can partner with healthcare providers to offer free or low-cost screening for blood sugar and risk factors, catching early signs of pre-diabetes or diabetes.

Q. What in your view is a holistic solution to check the alarming rise in diabetic population

A. he rise in diabetes is a complex challenge that requires a multi-faceted and holistic approach.

First, widespread public education and awareness are vital. People must understand the risks, early signs, and importance of healthy living from childhood onward. Schools, workplaces, and media can all play important roles in spreading this message.

Second, early detection through regular screening is essential. Affordable and accessible testing can identify pre-diabetes and diabetes early, allowing timely intervention to prevent complications.

Third, promoting healthy diet and physical activity should become a social norm. This means creating supportive environments with healthy food options, safe spaces for exercise, and policies that reduce sugary and processed foods.

Four, mental health and stress management must be prioritised, as stress negatively impacts blood sugar control.

Finally, community and family involvement is crucial for sustaining healthy habits. When families and communities embrace these changes, prevention and management of diabetes becomes more effective.

In summary, combining education, early detection, lifestyle support and community engagement offers the best chance to curb the growing diabetes epidemic and improve public health.

MrProptek, First AI-Enabled, Potentially Disruptive Real Estate App, Launched In Chandigarh

Formally launched by Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria in a well-attended gathering organised at Hotel Mountview on Tuesday

It’s called MrProptek, a first of its kind potentially revolutionary AI (artificial intelligence) enabled property or real estate app. It promises to make comparing and choosing your dream verified property (eventually) anywhere in the world, virtually visiting it, negotiating a price, projecting its possible appreciation within a time frame and completing the formalities for the purchase directly with the builder a breeze, all from the comfort of your home without having to pay brokerage.

The app, which could potentially disrupt the traditional way of doing online real estate transactions, has been co-founded by father-son duo of KS Bhatia of Pumpkart app fame, whose venture was appreciated by none other than Google CEO Sundar Pichai; and Aagman Bhatia, a post graduate in AI and ML (Machine Learning) from technology university Plaksha in Mohali, and also the app’s Chief Product Officer.

Potentially, gone will be the days when one would search for a property of choice on Google and be directed to traditional property websites, which would at most provide leads to brokers. With MrProptek, which runs both on iOS and Android, you can express yourself about the dream property you have in mind and a real estate savvy genie will have a host of options instantly ready for you to compare, also catering to any number of queries and clarifications you might want to get addressed.

The app has an integrated Google Meet feature which allows you to set up a virtual face-to-face interaction directly with the builder/developer. Once a deal is struck and payment plan chosen, funds transfers are made securely and directly to the builder/promoter without any broker/intermediary fee.

Soon, the portfolio will be expanded to include projects in NCR Delhi, Gujarat and even Dubai. Other cities like Mumbai and Bangalore will be added next. The target is to cover all of India and Asia by 2028.

Resale property business is also very much on the radar and will be included in the app’s portfolio in due course. A separate ‘Rent & Leasing’ app is also being planned in the future.

From affordable flats to premium and ultra-luxury properties, private islands, beach villas, and houseboats, eventually the platform is targeted to become a one-stop-shop for global real estate investments.

While claiming that MrProptek is the world’s first AI-enabled property booking platform, the father-son duo asserted that the real estate technology space is set to witness a paradigm shift with its launch.

“The real estate world is already very excited about the platform. We are in the process of finalising a deal with a Mumbai based builder to exclusively market its Rs 400 crore project. Another deal in the pipeline is the exclusive rights to market 15 lakh square feet of properties from multiple reputed builders worth Rs 10,000 core in Gujarat. Half a dozen builders in Dubai have also expressed their keenness to market their properties on the app,” co-founder and MrProptek CEO KS Bhatia claimed.

Deep tech

MrProptek co-founder and Chief Product Officer Aagman added: “The deep tech at the core of the app is ‘Oora’ and ‘Aug’ developed by him and his team. “MrProptek is powered by two proprietary in-house systems. While ‘Oora’ is an intelligent AI assistant that helps customers and business owners with real-time answers, location insights, and personalized suggestions, ‘Aug’, is a cutting-edge virtual tech module that offers dollhouse views, furniture de-furnishing, room measurements, and immersive virtual walkthroughs. Together they create a seamless, transparent, and futuristic property experience.”

He further claimed that “the app will redefine how real estate should be bought, sold, and experienced. The platform features 4K virtual walkthroughs, instant booking capabilities, transparent digital documentation, AI-based property recommendations, and a builder dashboard that can sell out inventory within hours.”

How MrProptek app works

Whether you’re generally browsing for a promising property to invest in, or laser-focused on what you are looking for in a property, ask just about anything related to real estate from Oora, the savvy real estate genie.

For example, you could ask Oora: Suggest properties in a particular location or city with a private swimming pool, gym, and clubhouse. I’m looking for options with both open and indoor parking, a beautiful view, and an annual appreciation of 10% or more. Oora’s sharp picks and witty charm make finding your dream home effortless. Just chat and she’ll do the rest.

Step in before you move in

To allow you to compare properties picked for you by Oora, VR (Virtual Reality) tools take you through a virtual tour to explore your future home before making the move – the promise, an experience like never before!

Dive into the app’s immersive 4K virtual tours and 3D gamified models—explore, feel and experience your future space as if you were there. No need to visit—just step in virtually and watch and feel even the minutest detail, including actual dimensions of each wall and space, with zoom in and zoom out feature.

Augmented Reality

With the use of AR (Augmented Reality) the app provides users with an authentic, comprehensive picture of what aligns with their vision, ensuring they make decisions with confidence.

Google Meet

An integrated Google Meet feature allows users to seamlessly set up a direct virtual meeting with the builder/promoter for final negotiations and completing sale formalities.

All in a matter of a few hours

The entire process, from visiting the app to sale and documentation, can happen in a matter of a few hours.

Isn’t that impressive!

When two highly-motivated and enterprising friends – Narayan Subramaniam, with a passion for design and innovation, and Niraj Rajmohan, with expertise in software and electronics – came together to launch Ultraviolette Automotive from Bengaluru in 2016 they had a dream to make it the first Indian success story in technologically advanced and performance-driven electric two-wheelers globally.

Seven years of painstaking research and development later they created quite a buzz in the Indian electric two-wheeler market with their first product – the F77 series of high-end electric superbikes – giving them confidence to branch out into mainstream and more affordable segment with the unveiling of Ultraviolette Tesseract, claimed to be world’s first radar-integrated high-performing electric scooter, and Shockwave, an adventure electric motorcycle, earlier this year.

Starting the sales push from its home ground Bengaluru, the fast-emerging company now has a footprint across 13 cities in India, with an ambitious target to extend its reach to 50 cities across India in FY 2026 with a simultaneous razor-sharp focus on fast-paced European markets such as UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and France, where Ultraviolette Automotive has already received the necessary certifications for its F77 series superbikes.

Riding high on the massive response to its high-performing electric scooter Tesseract in pre-bookings, which hit 20,000 in the first 48 hours, prompting an extension of its introductory price on pre-bookings for the first 10,000 customers to the first 50,000, the company recently (on April 22) showcased its entire range of electric two-wheelers at a media event in Chandigarh to create a buzz in the runup to the opening of its state-of-the-art S3 experience centre in the city later this year.

Interacting exclusively with your own news portal LifeInChandigarh.com, Reuben George, Vice President, Corporate Communications & Customer Experience, Ultraviolette Automotive, said till date the company has received 60,000 bookings online for the newly unveiled scooter and motorcycle, the deliveries of which will only start in the first quarter of 2026.

He said, currently the company is delivering two models in the F77 superbike series – the F77 MACH2, and for a more upright rider stance in city conditions, the F77 SuperStreet – which have redefined electric performance, accelerating from 0 to 60 kph in just 2.8 seconds.

Equipped with a 10.3 kWh battery pack and delivering a peak power output of 30 kW (40.2 hp), the motorcycles offer a staggering 100 Nm of peak torque. The superbikes accelerate swiftly from 0 to 60 km/hr in just 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 km/hr with an impressive IDC (Indian driving conditions) range of 323 kms. Ultraviolette’s ongoing optional packages are also available to all F77 customers, aimed at magnifying the riding experience further.

F77 MACH 2 and F77 SuperStreet are priced at ₹ 2,99,000 and come with a global-first 800,000 km / 8 years battery and drivetrain warranty with the company’s UV Care MAX programme.
